Humans are fickle creatures. Our travel plans change every moment. Sometimes we like to make changes in our travel itinerary because of personal reasons and sometimes a pandemic land in our lives and turns our life upside down.
Thankfully Delta made changing flights easy and hassle-free. In this article, I will share my experience with Delta Airlines Change Flight procedure. I have included as much information as I could so you will not have any problem following along.
A brief guide to Delta Airlines Change Flight policy
But first, let me give you a general idea about Delta Airlines Change Flight policy. Delta allows you to change flights with no extra fees on Main Cabin, First Class, Delta Premium Select, Delta One, and Delta Comfort flights.
Basic Economy ticket bookings which are done after 30 April 2021 can be changed and therefore are not eligible for a refund. In case the now changed flights cost more than the previous one, you are subjected to pay the fare difference. Delta Airlines Change Flight procedure (step by step)
Like I mentioned it is a simple procedure when done via delta.com. Before starting the procedure, it is better to find your confirmation number first as it is required in the procedure. Let’s have a look.
In case you don’t know where to look for your confirmation number, let me help you. You can either find it My Trip” section or in your email inbox.
Open your email(the email id that receives Delta flight details). In your inbox look for the Flight Receipt of the flight, you wish to change. Once you have located the email, find the confirmation number. It must be at the top part of the mail, just below your name.
Once you have your confirmation number, go to “My Trips” on delta.com and locate the flight you wish to change.
Now, select the “Modify Flight” icon on the page. You will have two options on display now- Change Flight and Cancel Flight. Select the Change option. Confirm your intentions and your Delta Airlines Flight Change process will begin immediately.
On eligible tickets, you are not required to pay any extra fees. Visit Delta Airlines Flight Change section on their website to learn more about eligible tickets.
Select “Start Flight Change” and choose the flight you wish to change. You will be directed to the page displaying new flight options for you. If the new flight fare is less than the previous one, the e-credit will be reflected in Delta e-credit. If the new one costs more than the original flight, pay the difference and your Delta Change Flight process is completed.
